Finally, on November 24th the first task of the Triwizard Tournament had commence. After, lunch everyone went to the Quidditch pitch, which was specially designed for the first task. Everyone in the stands had different signs. Some had Viktor, Fleur, and Harry, but the majority was Cedric.
"I hope, they'll be alright!" Lavender declared, as everyone cheered louder.
A dragon which had chains on it's legs was now being brought into the arena, "It's a Swedish Short-Snout!" Hermione declared gasping.
Again, everyone cheered as the door opposite of the dragon opened. There stood Cedric, shining like usual. Well to Mei, yes. to everyone else, maybe not. Everyone watched intently, as he hid behind one of the rocks. However, the dragon had sensed him, and blew a spit of fire at him. Again, the crowd yelled, but he ducked behind another rock close by.
Cedric had muttered some words, that couldn't be heard of the loud screech of the dragon, but soon a golden Labrador came running along. Some of the girls like Lavender, cooed seeing the cute littler puppy, but was horrified when the dragon caught sight of it.
"Go Cedric!" Mei yelled, like the other people in the crowd, as finally Cedric headed to the golden egg.
George, who was beside her, looked curiously at her, "Why are you cheering for him? Save your voice for Harry!" She just stuck out her tongue, and immediately started screaming again.
Cedric had reached the golden egg, everyone in the crowd exploded with applause. Cedric had the egg raised in the air, but he did not noticed the dragon heading towards him. Mei let out a scream, which caught Cedric's attention.
He smiled weakly looking at the dragon behind him. Running for his life to back into the entrance. However, the dragon spat flames of fire again, hitting his cheek. This time Cho had yelled, hiding behind her friend, Marietta Edgecombe. Cedric still kept running going back into the Champion's tent.
Mei was in tears. She had told Cedric, if he got hurt, she would cry all night for him, and it seemed she was going to, since she wiped her tears every few seconds.
"Go." Hermione whispered, knowing Mei's secret love for him.
"What do-"
She smirked, "If you want to be more than friends with him, hurry before Cho gets there."
Mei gasped, "How did you know?" Hermione sat there, pretending to sleep, mumbling Cedric's name.
She smiled, "Hurry." Mei wiped away her tears, and headed to the end.
She squeezed herself through the crowd of noisy Gryffindors. It was mostly the boys, since Fleur had came out ready for the task. Mei seemed surprised that she even got away from George, but her heart sank, when Seamus was at the end. Before, Seamus could see her, she ran passed him heading towards the tent.
It only took a few minutes, and there she saw Cedric laying on the bed with an orange paste on his cheek.
"What are you doing here?" Cedric asked, looking at Mei, trying to smile.
Mei threw her arms around Cedric, bursting into tears, "I can't believe you're hurt! You should have been careful." Mei cried.
Cedric rustled her hair, "Hey, don't lecture a person, who is hurt-" Mei hugged him tighter.
"I was just so scared! I didn't want you out of my life." She whispered, thinking he would not hear her.
He just smiled, "Don't-" He stopped, eyes wide open.
Mei turned around, and flash blinded her. Wiping away her tears, as fast as she could, but could not hide the fact that her eyes were red. There with a quill and a note pad in the air, was Rita Skeeter.
"It seems that Harry Potter isn't the only one with a girlfriend." The quill in the air, quickly wrote something down, as the woman headed towards her.
Her smiled, she made look more evil than George's when he made a great prank, "You're very pretty, no wonder he is dating someone like you."
"We're not dating." Mei told her, as Rita examined her hair.
She cackled as, if she was a witch, "Don't worry-"
"Rita, may you leave, I need to be with Cedric." Madam Promfrey began.
Rita growled and the quill went back into her pocket, "I suppose you can just add more of those paste, but you're the one taking care of him." Her eyes shot back at Mei, who's arm were still wrapped around Cedric, "I'll just write what I have so far."
Mei glared furiously at her, "I advise you to leave too, Ms. Kuran." Madam Promfrey instructed.
She clenched her fist, standing immediately, but Cedric pulled her back down, "Can't she stay?"
"Wouldn't she want to watch? She already missed Ms. Delacour, she wouldn't miss the fantastic Viktor Krum." She retorted in her usual tone, "An beside we need to get you to the hospital wing."
"But, It's just my cheek." Cedric responded.
She smiled, "We just need to check it out, and I don't have all my things at the moment."
Mei smiled, tapping her shoulder, "I can help, I don't mind at all."
Madame Promfrey looked like she thought about, but nodded anyway. Mei help Cedric out of the bed, and went to the hospital wing with him. While walking up to the castle, she could hear chants of Harry's name.
"Hope he'll be alright." Mei declared, looking back at the pitch.
Cedric snorted, "Don't talk about another guy, when you're with me." Cedric grabbed her hand, Mei blushed madly.
"W-well okay." She stuttered, as he opened the door for her.

"YOU DIDN'T SEE IT!" Seamus yelled after the first task, when they were back in the common room.
"I was helping someone out." She indicated, "Anyway, we still have homework."
"You're turning into Hermione." Mei again stuck out her tongue, which was a usual thing for her,
"At least, I'm ready from my O.W.L." She declared, as George and Fred sat beside her.
"Well, Seamus, wasn't it great to see Cedric's face burnt?" Fred asked.
"What do you mean?" Mei responded.
George smiled, "That pretty boy, got his cheek burnt. Probably, crying right now." The two other boys laughed, but Mei shot up, Seamus even swore he could see flames coming out of her head.
"You don't understand Cedric! He is nice, caring, and puts others first! You can't just base people on their looks." She yelled, as everyone's attention headed towards them and not Harry Potter.
She crossed her arms, the steam coming from her ears slowing down.Still, everyone's eyes were on the four. She sighed heading to her room. Hermione, of course, following her, since the boys weren't allowed in the girl's dormitory. The twins and Seamus just sat down, wondering what set the dragon inside of her.
Once, Mei reached in her room, she flopped into her bed, "What did those boys do?"
"They were making fun of Cedric, but I over reacted, and I bet they hate me!"
"You're over reacting again. You're such a drama queen." Pointed out.
Mei giggled, "Is tat suppose to be a compliment?"
Hermione shrugged, "You better go back, though."
"Why? To tell those three, I was just over reacting, blah, blah, blah."
"No. You left your homework downstairs, and I'm pretty sure Seamus has intentions to see them."
Mei made a puppy dog face, "Can you get it for me?" She pleaded, but Hermione just looked away, however she followed her gaze, and finally got Hermione to bring up her homework.
"I already did you do things today, so what am I getting in return?"
"TWO? Yeah right." She trailed off.
Hermione smirked, "Standing up for Cedric, hey? I think you two had a great time together then."
Mei looked away and blushed.
