Chapter 07 - Why Diggory?

"How did that happen?" Mei yelled, as everyone chattered, since the goblet had revealed Harry's name.

"I bet he asked someone older to put his name in." A Hufflepuff student declared.

Hermione had stayed silent through this whole conversation, but finally spoke up, "Harry is not that kind of person!" She yelled.

"I don't know, it seems suspicious." Ron declared softly, but it didn't matter, since Hermione heard.

She glared furiously at him, it was the first time Mei had seen her this mad, "He is your best-friend!" She yelled, storming out of the Great Hall.

"Well, harry could have done it. He would have grown a large white beard, and it would be hard to notice it." Angelina declared.

Everyone nodded in agreement. They knew many people try to put their name, but failed. For example, Fred and George tried to get cross it with an aging potion, but grew beard after. No an ordinary beard, but a long white one, that was also bushy. Though, still everyone wondered, how could Harry be selected in Triwizard Tournament.

That night Mei sneaked off again. She headed to the Quidditch changing room where he usually met Cedric. She wouldn't get caught, since teachers already knew about her and Draco. Lucius had told Snape and Dumbledore, who spilled to the whole staff. They wouldn't go near her, knowing, that Lucius had her back.

"CONGRATS-!" Mei yelled, but stopped, as he saw he wasn't alone.

She crept, quietly near them. Cho was there, her arms wrapped around his neck.  Mei didn't dare interrupt, but she just watched, hoping they finished soon. After, a couple of minutes, she decided to go back, but couldn't move, as she was shocked frozen.

"Cho, will you be my date for the Yule Ball." Mei was shocked, she thought he didn't like her anymore, but it handed work.

"Of course." Cho leaned in closer to him, but Mei left before she could see what happened next.

She ran in the empty halls of Hogwarts, pushing anyone that was in her way. Even, filch, didn't say a word to her, when she accidently hit his shoulder. She reached that Fat Lady, crying as she said the password. She only looked once, seeing Seamus studying at their usual table. Mei quickly ran to him, covering her face.

As, soon as she got to him, she sat on the chair beside him, "What's wron-" Mei wrapped her hands around his neck, crying her eyes out.

"What's wrong?" Seamus continued, blushing madly, as she hugged him tightly.

Mei slowly looked up, eyes swollen form crying to much, "Am I pretty? Do I have a good personality? 

Would I make a good girl-friend?" She asked, still crying.

Seamus nodded, "Then why doesn't he like me!?" She cried, and again another flood of tears came.

He patted her back, comforting her. As, she cried, he remember what she said, moments ago. He asked himself the same thing. He would do anything for her, but why didn't she show any interest at him. More importantly, who was the guy she was talking about. Was it Harry? Dean? Neville? He wouldn't dare think, she liked someone like Malfoy.

Eventually, Hermione had saw the two. She had ask the same thing, Seamus did when she saw her crying, but his time she did not say a word. Hermione had just took her upstairs to their room, but he did not want that. If Mei had came crying to him, that mean she trusted him. Maybe that trust could turn something more into his favour.

"Harry!" Seamus had noticed the large crowd surrounding him and followed.

The next day, Mei lazily went to her classes. She didn't bother to talk to anyone, who wasn't by the name of Seamus. She would smile occasionally, when he tried to make her laugh. Like, when he tried to say something in a British accent. Not even, hilarious jokes by the Weasley twins made her laugh.

Every time, she passed someone in the hall who was in Hufflepuff student, it would bring her almost into tears. She just wanted to curl up in a ball in her room, but Hermione insisted not too, because she didn't want her to fail.

By the time, dinner was there, she didn't want to eat. That said a lot, since she loved eating at Hogwarts. When she reached the common room, to curl up into a ball in her bad, she was surprisingly carried by George on his back.

"Put me done!" She yelled. using all the strength she had left to wiggle out.

"No." He told her bluntly, heading towards  Harry.

"What are you doing?" Harry asked him immediately.

He smirked, looking at Mei, "Going to the Great Hall. Race ya." George quickly ran, as Harryjogged behind.

"You can do better then that!" He yelled, seeing the entrance ahead of him.

"PUT ME DOWN!" Mei yelled, with the top of her lungs, even paintings near them were shaking.

George again smirked again, and entered with her still on his back, "I'm going to kill you, when we get to the common room."

He sat her beside Fred and himself, even though she insisted to be next to Seamus. The food popped in front of her, and George took her spoon before she could. Taking a spoonful of feed, he tried to feed her.

"You want to die?" She asked, although he tried to feed her still.

He smiled, "Say ah!" He ordered, and Mei slowly opened her mouth.

George shoved the spoon into her mouth, getting a spoonful of his own food, "Now wasn't that good." Mei growled, grabbing the spoon away from him.

Mei smiled, tasting the food. Even, though she was mad at George for embarrassing her, but she was happy not missing another yummy dinner. After, dinner it seeemed she was back into her happy mood, that's what a Hogwarts meal could do to a person. Heading out, walking on her own two feet this time,  she talked to the twins about a new prank, when she was dragged by someone.

Of course, it was Cedric Diggory, who was pulling her, not letting go at any cost. They headed to the changing rooms, where he sat her down. He was shocked when he saw small tears dropping down from her eyes.

"What do you want?" She asked, raising her voice at him for the first time.

"What- I mean, why did you ditch me, yesterday?" He asked, trying to pat her back, but was only shoved off.

"If that's all, then I'm leaving." She responded, standing up.

With sincerity in his eyes, Cedric asked, "What's wrong." Mei looked away, not wanting to be sucked into his gorgeous grey eyes, like she did the first time she saw him.

"Congrats on being selected, hoe you do well on your first task." Mei mentioned.

Cedric retorted, "You haven't answered my question."

"Try not to get hurt." She kissed his cheek softly, "Or I have to cry all night for you again." Wiping her tears, with her sleeve, Mei left him there.

"Mei, you better get a hold of yourself, we have double potions." Hermione declared, as Ron joined them to their calss.

"Where is Harry?" Mei asked, looking around for him and trying to change the subject.

Ron grunted, leaving the two girls, "They got into a fight while you were gone."

Mei smiled, "Harry should talk to Draco then."

"Why do you say that?" Hermione asked.

"Well, you said they were a couple." She replied.

She nodded, "Emphasis on were. I heard from Pansy, that he is engaged."

Mei stopped, almost as pales, as Draco, "WHAT!?"
